Viskase Companies, Inc. announced today that it has acquired 100% of the stock of Darmex Casing sp. z o.o., as well as other assets, from Supravis Group S.A. The change in ownership takes effect immediately.

Darmex Casing is located in Swiecie, Poland, and has been producing high quality plastic casings for the meat industry for over 20 years. Sales are split approximately 50/50 between the Polish and export markets. Darmex is known for the quality of its plastic casings, as well as its printing and finishing capabilities. With this acquisition Viskase will significantly improve its ability to add value to the casings currently being produced in its Warsaw extrusion facility.

Darmex will, for the time being, be run as an independent company, with its own sales force, but also as part of the growing portfolio of products that Viskase supplies to the market.
